Why

Khick IT was born out of years of frustration being placed through traditional consulting firms. The founders are healthcare consultants who realized many times they were not submitted for positions because their rate was too high (lowering the profit for the consulting firm), the consulting firm had another consultant they wanted in the position, or just bad follow up on the part of the recruiter.

And clients were paying large mark ups on our services to these firms, which added no value to their projects and drove the costs up substantially.

While working as an Implementation Director for a large IT project we needed to replace a PM. Instead of putting out a request to numerous firms, we called one of the handful of recruiters we knew and trusted and asked if he had anyone. We would pay a finder’s fee if he placed our new PM. Three weeks later we had the perfect PM, the recruiter earned a nice fee, and the hospital saved over $85,000 over the length of the contract versus contracting through a consulting firm. We Khicked out the non-value adding participants in the process.

That is when the idea hit - Why not do this on a larger scale and bring clients and consultants together without the middlemen (and middlewomen)?

Clients pay less and consultants earn more. That sounded like a sound business idea and we began the journey of building Khick IT.
